Pastel crayons on Ingres

The guitarist was playing on a hot evening during the Shipston Proms 2022 at The Norman Knight in Cherrington. He had bright orange light illuminating him from below with natural light coming through the window.

I loved the way his feet tapped in time to the music and his floppy flat cap shadowing his face.

I did two sketches using ink and wash during the performance which I used to develop the composition. Finally using a dark Ingres paper and pastel pencils, I produced the finished work.
